View Full Version : Bill won danielx 04-16-2004, 02:49 AM but you probably already knew that. :D Tom 04-16-2004, 04:59 AM Yeah, I think he was the best man for the job. Kwame really dropped the ball big time. And Omorosa screwed him in just about every way she could. It was a huge mistake to hire her. It was an even worse mistake to let her take care of anything of importance after she outright lied to him. rwaforums 04-17-2004, 02:30 AM I'm looking forward to the UK version with Richard Branson. :) I hope that the apprentice will get broadcast over here, sounded like an interesting show. We need some relief from "American Idol" :) Tom 04-17-2004, 02:56 AM We need some relief from "American Idol" :) I feel for you! Antiphrasis 04-18-2004, 03:45 AM I try to avoid all reality shows like the plagues, but I happened to catch a few minuted of the Apprentice and saw Bill winning, he seemed to be a nice guy. I can't really understand, though, why this show is so big? Tom 04-18-2004, 03:49 AM I really don't know why. It had an addictive quality though. I can't really explain it. Scarlet Warrior 04-18-2004, 07:38 PM What exactly is this show about? It must be very interesting. IAFPO 04-18-2004, 08:51 PM Kill Bill! Oh, sorry, wrong Bill. :D I'm not sure what Bill they are talking about either. Tom 04-19-2004, 01:56 AM The show was about who Donald Trump was going to hire (the apprentice) to run one of his companies. They interviewed/auditioned an enormous amount of people for it, and then picked something like 16 people to be on the show. They then split them up into teams and gave them a different task to compete in each week. Each week, one person would get fired from the losing team. Finally it was between Kwame, a Harvard MBA, and Bill, a guy who already had his own multi-million dollar company. Kwame's task in the final week was to run a Jessica Simpson concert at Trump's casino in NJ. And Bill's was to run the Trump celebrity golf tournament. Kwame screwed up and lost. MantaRayz 04-19-2004, 02:46 AM WOW! I didn't watch any of that "12 week Reality Job Interview", but the final tasking sounds pretty intense! I do Production, and from the logistical side, I'd MUCH rather do a Golf Tourney than a concert! So if Kwame had no experience in it, I'd be surprised if s/he (?) was able to keep a level of sanity! If that had been me in that position, I would have hired someone to run the show, and pop in with a few embellishments that the Trumpster would appreciate. Tom 04-19-2004, 03:12 AM That's what one of Trump's right hand people said, that a Golf tourney was much easier and that should be taken into account. However, I think Bill would have knocked out the concert and Kwame would have messed up the golf match. See, they did hire people. They brought back 6 of the people who were fired in prev. episodes and the two of them picked teams. Kwame totally dropped the ball on his picks. He then made the mistake of trusting them to get their jobs done after they were already screwing up. Bill picked 3 stars basically. And even if he picked bad, when they started screwing up, he would have pushed them out of the way and tried to get it done himself. They had different management styles. Bill was a micromanager, which isn't necessarily always good, but in this case was. Kwame was not a micromanager at all, he believed in delegating the tasks out and then letting them do it. But if you don't have good people, and Donald Trump is breathing down your neck, it's a problem. Sounds like reality TV worth watching. :) Tom 04-20-2004, 02:38 AM Yeah, I don't watch hardly any TV. And I didn't even see the first several weeks. But once I saw it, I was hooked! Scarlet Warrior 05-01-2004, 04:04 AM I just saw an advertisement for this show.... it's going to start here on Tuesday night. I'll probably watch it, even though I know who wins... ;) Tom 05-01-2004, 04:24 AM Yeah, it's a very entertaining show and you can learn some things about business and/or the corporate world. endeavour 05-12-2004, 07:27 AM it just started here in australia last week. i'm not watching it though. voyeurism is obviously an ingredient that gets everybody in. we are in awe of extremely successful people, rock stars, etc etc. it's always been the case. sad, but true. and many people feel less for not being as capable. i know many successful people, and they are just like you and me. it's your perception that's the difference. and it all goes back to "what is success?" |
