I am wondering what people prefer in terms of the post layout. To see what I'm talking about, go down to the very bottom of the page and look and see the box that says "default style." You'll see when you click the arrow that you can choose what I haphazardly named "Vertical post." Now look at a thread in each one to see what you like better.

The "Vertical Post" is actually the default style for vbulletin 3 which is the new version. But I was used to forums that had the old style, so I made the old style the default. Now I'm kind of liking the new style.

I'm just trying to decide which one should actually be the default, because I will still leave the other as an option.

What do you think?

I'm already had to adjust to vBulletin. I am so used to other forum software such as phpBB, Invision Power Board and Web Wiz Forums that getting used to vBulletin took me a few minutes, since certain things are layed out differently.

I personally don't like the vertical post style. It looks okay, but it makes it so there is more space you have to scroll past to get to the next post. Personally I like the information next to the post.

But it is good to give people a choice.

I prefer the current layout, I have it set as a personal preference on my board, I like both layouts, this layout wins because with the poster's details to the left of the post, makes the discussion flow better.

I prefer the default style.

I agree... default is better. Vertical layout seems to take up too much space. It breaks up the posts too much, there isn't as much continuity.

Default here too.... Posts get a little to wide the other way. There also a lot of wasted space.

I didn't even know about the thing at the bottom that I could get the default. Somehow mine always has the vertical post. I like the default better.

Gooddad, I think you may have accidentally set it that way. If you go to edit options in the control panel, the last option should be 'Forum Skin.' Set this to 'use forum default.'

It looks like everyone likes the "default". I like them both though.
