I am getting very slow load times and other problems, so if you are too, you are not alone. The host was supposedly moving servers this weekend, so I suspect that is what is going on. At any rate, I have put in a support request just in case, so hopefully all will be well soon. :)

I've had problems getting onto the site today. It was acting as if the site didn't exist.

They gave me the "it's on your end" song and dance this morning. I am not at home, but I will contact them later tonight and set them straight.

It seems fine now, but earlier today I either couldn't get on at all or when I was on it..........was............really................. ..........slooooooooow.

They said they did some tuning to apache, so we'll see what happens. As to the email thing, something funny is going on and I'm not sure if it is all one problem or something seperate, but I'm looking into it. When I sent that notice out about the newsletter, I got an unusually large number of bounces, and new members in the last few days have been bouncing too. So I'll see what happens. I know the software is working and sending email, the problem is definitely with the server, but fingers crossed, they have fixed the problem.

For what it's worth, I did not get an e-mail newsletter. I also am not receiving notifications of post replies (although I think I have my profile configured such that I should).

For some reason, there is no email address for you...If you go in the control panel and enter a new email address, you should get notifications.

Well, they decided to archive the old Lounge.... which is like your "Off Topic" thread here..... no one can reply to it anymore, and thousands of great threads got lost in the trample. People were very upset about that. The powers that be there, all decided people were having too much fun in the lounge and should be focused more on goals, etc... that fit into the TR way of RPM, etc.... that is fine, that is their choice.

For us as posters though, the Lounge was a place to start threads of encouragment to others, wish happy birthday, console the ones facing medical crisis... etc. It was the heart and soul of the whole place. We all posted to goal threads, etc too... but the Lounge was the most popular.

Unfortunately, the closure of the Lounge came a month after a beloved member, called "Wasaaaaabi" died of cancer. We were all rooting for him, praying for him to get better... his death came as a real shock as his spirit was so strong and the way he talked about it... we all felt he was beating it for sure. Even his family joined the TR site after he died... they understood how important his friends there had been to him, how he kept inspired.. Closing the Lounge meant all the threads related to Eric / Wasaaaaabi's life and death were now archived and deemed inapropriate! That was like a huge slap in the face to a lot of us. Eric's death helped us all even bond more so, then they tore it all away from us shortly afterwards.

We the members there, made the place special and friendly... and welcoming. We don't expect any special treatment from TR or his companies... but many of us had gone to the seminars, paid for the products.. etc. Given testimonials online for no fee... and we did all that from the goodness of our hearts. So to be moderated that heavily after years of being a member there.... was kind of like the last straw for a lot of folks. The in fighting got to be too much there... decent people were banned without good cause, just because the moderators didn't like them personally. Silly things. No ne can keep track of the new rules, Mods are deleting posts and threads left, right and centre there right now... it is all pretty chaotic to say the least.

I am sure TR people will post in both TR and VIBE forums, but I am also sure that the TR folks are going to be staying a lot longer than you might think too! Your website is a great place, and I hope this "unexpected expansion" doesn't cost you more money! But it will boost your membership and word of mouth is worth a lot these days!! I hope the influx brings you much prosperity Tom... You deserve it my friend!! :yup:

Ah...thanks for the explanation, makes sense now. When I was posting over there way back when, I spent most of my time in the lounge, as that's where a lot of the action was. I think I will change "Off-Topic" to the lounge, as it seems fitting.

Other than it being a little slow, it's ok for me. At any rate, even at it's best, I think it's too slow, and I am going to talk to them some time this weekend about our options. It really hasn't been right since that time when they got the new server and we were having lots of problems.

I have a question about the chat room... it was really busy in there tonight about 10 pm... I tried 3 times to get in. I was showing as being in the room, but it wouldn't let me type anything. So I tried 3 times... still couldn't type. So I shut down my computer, did a re-start and got in and could type again. Just thought it was really strange though...

Also I tried to make a Cat Lovers room to talk, hoping that would take some of the activity out of the main lounge chat room... it let me make a room. But then I invited one person, got declined.. okay. I invited another person, and they didn't get the invite. I pm'd them and they said they never got an invite... I made the room public... it showed in the main screen of the Lounge chat I had made a room... but I couldn't access it. Not sure why?

Cat Lover, I'm really not sure as to what all the technical glitches are in the chat rooms. My guess is that they will improve as the overall server performance improves, which will be soon I hope.

Is it possible to make it so we can see the name of the person who started a thread, as well as the last person to reply to it? I am having trouble finding a lot of threads, especially now that there are some similar ones, but created by different people... I am trying to Follow both Spider and Pauls, and Flowers, and.... getting really confused! LOL Hope this makes sense?! I mean in the very start page.... where the different forums are located.. also they usually show a portion of the very first message in the thread too? before clicking on the thread directly I mean... I hope I am making sense!! When I try to do that it - it just says go to first thread, rather than showing a small portion of the thread starters words...
