Here's a list of my goals:

1. Start my own software company
2. Work from home or my own office
3. Make good money from the company and maybe go public
4. Retire when I'm 40-50 years old and enjoy the rest of my life

I'd be really happy if I could make this happen. :bouncy:

Don't you mean that you'll "be extremely ecstatic :yippee: when you make this happen" ? ;)

What kind of software do you plan to become rich designing, programming and selling?

James,

Good luck with your goals. Have you written down all your goals and subgoals on a piece of paper? I find this a good way a keeping track of your goals. It also serves as a reminder if you post it on the fridge. =)

Sounds like a plan. :) Luckily there are a lot of models of success out there. Be sure to spend time looking at your competitors and other software companies and see what works and what doesn't work about them. And then learn those lessons and incorporate that into your business.

That sounds much more convincing... :)

Yeah, it is so easy to say "some day" or "if I could" instead of "by when" and "I will."

It is so much more powerful when you actually declare that you will do something by a certain date. Without such a declaration, it just becomes wishful thinking that will happen "some day" (which by coincidence never comes).

Yep those definitely look like worthwhile goals to me James.

chunk it down, stamp dates next to each portion, tell everyone else what your going to do, because going public will commit you, each and every day take action on one or two small portions. nothing just comes about because it's a dream, impact with action. and most importantly, sell your dream to everyone else, imagine if they could dream the same script as you, what's the buy in? why would they buy it etc etc.
