Probably not. Like the article suggests, this book is kinda weak on specifics, and there are LOTS of other books that are better suited for the vast majority of the potential readers. Were their original Books influential? Yes. I didn't really expect a collaboration would be a good follow-up to those editions.

I'm certain this book is snapped up at the seminars though!

Agree with Scott.... on new and old. And I've never been a big RDPD fan, anyway; nice general knowledge, but not a lot of meat (from my point of view).

The same has been true lately of Brian Tracy's stuff. Nothing really new, IMO.

Having said that, The Art of the Deal, The Psychology of Selling, and ATGW are up there on my Mt Rushmore of books/programs that transformed my life.

I agree totally with this Scott and Baseline.

I've been a bit disappointed of late with Brian's material.

I never got the RDPD hype. I mean, I get the paradigm shift which was worth the price of the book, but I did find them sadly lacking in detail needed for implementation and execution.

Im a big fan of The Donald, and usually snap up any old thing with his name on it. His last two books, however, were simply regurgutated platitudes. You could have swapped the dust jackets and been none the wiser.

The same has been true lately of Brian Tracy's stuff. Nothing really new, IMO. Dare I say even TR's new 2 CD and DVD set is simply a restatement of old hat. :yikes:

Having said that, The Art of the Deal, The Psychology of Selling, and ATGW are up there on my Mt Rushmore of books/programs that transformed my life.

My 2 cents..:tiphat:

I can totally dig. I wonder if, at some point, these authors have simply distilled down what really does work, for them, to the point where there really is nothing left to say? Their books and media are a representation of their core philosophies and can't really be expounded on any further.

The Donald hasn't really changed his way of doing business since day one. With minor exceptions. Like Warren Buffett.

But people, potential customers of TR, Trump, Kiyosaki, who are becoming 'aware' of their potential in 2006 may not be so keen on purchasing a book written in the 1980's or older and maybe they have to keep re-releasing the same old data in new forms to appeal to their newest customers. Interesting lesson there for all of us, I think.

Bingo....the titles "How To Get Rich" and "Notes From a Friend" with slick covers and pictures of tv personalities (i.e. the contestants from Apprentice in DT's case) are clearly targeting the Wal-Mart/Target end-cap crowd...The info is very sanitized and provided in fast food fashion.

Its a shame because newcomers to this could likely miss out on the ground breaking stuff.

Yeah but I bet, as with any of us, there was that little trigger, an article, book, hand-me-down audio tape, even Enquirer cover, that set you on the path of knowledge that you are now burning up. Let's hope that Walmart crowd uses those slick fluff pieces as springboards because if they shop there, they need all the karma help they can get. :D

Notes From a Friend and Giant Steps are my favorite TR books. I tried reading Unlimited Power and ATGW and neither one could keep my attention. My undergraduate major was English Literature so I'm certainly capable of reading the great tomes.....but UP and ATGW bored me to tears. I got the groundbreaking stuff in the tape/CD programs, so I'm no worse for the wear, but for me, I prefer the friendly feel of NFAF and GS.

NOTE: I did not buy either one of those books at Wal-Mart!!

Agree with both of you.....The important thing is that change/progress take place, regardless of the impetus.

:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh: You said impetus.

I think you can take Levitra for that, Scott.
