View Full Version : Your plan to get rich
What are your plans to make your fortune, however small or large? Obviously you don't need to give out trade secrets, but general ideas. Working on starting a business? Already have one and planning to take it to the next level? Got a dream job you're after? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on what you plan to do to make the big money in your lifetime, unless of course your not interested in the big money. :)
rwaforums 04-30-2004, 03:30 AM I see myself as a Derek Trotter type, I'll try all sorts of things to try and make money. :D

LOL! :biglaugh: "This time next year we will be millionaires"
My plan is to work my way into an IT Project Mangement position with an excellent salary. Also I have a couple of ideas for websites that could be potential earners. I intend to invest wisely along the way as well.... in shares and property. I will be keeping my eyes open for any other opportunities as well. :yup:

Never heard of him. I looked him up in google, and I really can't get handle on who he is. He's a British TV star that's a millionaire?

Sounds like a good positive plan. :)

He is a character in a British show called 'Only Fools and Horses'. Derek and his brother Rodney are in partnership in a dodgy trading company. Derek is always cooking up ways to make a fortune, but usually comes unstuck. "This time next year we will be millionaires".... that's his famous quote. It's a quality show.... very funny, but I don't think they make it any more.
ahhh....I get it now. Sounds funny!
endeavour 04-30-2004, 06:34 AM An interesting comment tom that you dont have to give out trade secrets. I believe that when you have a mentality of abundance, when you can actually collaborate with your competition and talk about the issues that you both face, you thereby immediately increase the knowledge base, and curiously, the solutions base of a similar playing field. Too many people have a scarcity mentlity, it is what we're taught, that there's already too much competition, when in fact there's not enough - when was the last time you recieved average service in any industry? i contend that it's a daily product that we all accept. There's always room to move, you can do better, and the fact you're on a website such as this proves that not only can you move forward on a personal level, but you are also interested in learning new strategies to move ahead in many other directions. So pat yourself on the back, give yourself the credit that you do so deserve. We are always in awe of others achievements, when in reality, many people are in awe of what we have also achieved, but because you have lived it, it is just how it is, we overcame whatever difficulty, so therefore it was no big deal. But think, that for someone who hasn't bungee jumped, parachuted, survived whatever, to see someone do something they haven't is an inspiration to many. Wouldn't you agree?
Interesting point about overlooking or dismissing our own achievements.
As for the scarcity metality, it is so deeply ingrained in most of us. In many cases it requires a consistent and concerted effort to truly change ones perspective, to one of true abundance.

I'm going to ask you to share your riches with me! :lildevil: I think I like that idea! :D
MelodyBinOC 05-14-2004, 10:01 PM Im going to sell Real Estate and set aside my profit to invest in real estate myself. I want to accumulate individual homes and condo's at first and then larger multiunit properties until I accumulate enough properties and equity gained that I feel confident, then I will sell, invest conservatively and live off the interest. Now I just need to start selling.

That sounds like a good solid plan.... obviously well thought out. :)

MantaRayz,
can you actually measure success. I make $500 more than what i did last month and i treat myself as succesful and rich. if i think i can then i know i will. think over it dear :lildevil:

thanks tom
to tell you the truth, this forum is a lot of fun : there are some people who make more money then what they made the previous mont, but someone tell s him "what you just made $2000 last month". this guys then starts thinking that "i am unsuccesful" . even though he made more money. The circle of negativity then starts haunting him

It's all relative. If you made $500 the first month and then $1000 the second month, that means you doubled your income. But for someone who made $5000 the first month and $5500 the second month, they would have increased their income by mearly 10%.
IAFPO 06-06-2004, 12:19 AM I think I need to come up with some new plans. The plans I had didn't pan out, so I think I need to reevaluate.
What plans are you referring to Scott? Is it that they didn't pan out or just aren't panning out as fast as you'd like?
IAFPO 06-06-2004, 03:58 AM What plans are you referring to Scott? Is it that they didn't pan out or just aren't panning out as fast as you'd like?Yes.
Well, the computer consulting business I had hasn't panned out. I don't have the resources I need in that area to do what I orginally wanted. I was continually beating my head against the wall and it wasn't working. It was always feast or famine because I couldn't seem to find any reliable people out there to work with me. I also put it on the back burner so I could concentrate on a web business. The web business hasn't been panning out as fast as I'd like, but it is progressing well, especially lately. But it will still take some time.
I also have my association, but that really isn't something I am doing to get rich, although I'd like to eventually have a salary.
I guess the real problem is not that I don't have a plan to get rich, I guess the real problem is that it is taking longer than expected. Meanwhile I have to take care of short term needs, which are barely being met. I know I am sacrificing for the future, but I am at a point where I am not sure I can anymore. I don't want to give up because we are so close I can taste it, but at the same time I need cash now. The part-time job I have barely covers things.
So, I just really need to adjust and become more efficient.
You'll do it. Keep the faith! And keep seeing the picture as if it already is.
IAFPO 06-06-2004, 09:57 AM You'll do it. Keep the faith! And keep seeing the picture as if it already is.I think that is where I've become sidetracked. I am no longer sure how it's going to look. I need to get a mental picture of the results again and focus on that.
MantaRayz 06-06-2004, 11:03 PM I think that is where I've become sidetracked. I am no longer sure how it's going to look. I need to get a mental picture of the results again and focus on that.Does this Picture need just a little touch-up?
or does it need the Turpintine brush taken to it, and started with a fresh canvas?
or does it need a critique from an art expert?
or does it just need to be hung in your constant view, so you don't forget what it looks like?

or does it need the Turpintine brush taken to it, and started with a fresh canvas?
or does it need a critique from an art expert?
or does it just need to be hung in your constant view, so you don't forget what it looks like?In many ways, I am reevaluating everything.
I'm at a point in my life where I realize that many of the things I have pursued where simply out of ego and the desire to be important. Or worse, were out of survival. Many of my stupider mistakes were because of ego or attempting to be important instead of doing what needs to be done or what is right. And I have missed many opportunities because many times I was too busy surviving.
I have come to realize that my ego and my importance is not what I am about in the world.
I am about making a difference in the world. Actually, I always have been, just before I never had the guts or self-esteem to realize that I could actually do it.
Now being rich certainly would assist me in making a difference in the world, so I am not rulling that out. In fact I am planning on it.
Many of the things I am doing now, I will continue to do. But the why has changed, and that actually changes the whole context of the picture.
It's kinda like I had yellow ski glasses on that I forgot I had put on long ago, and had now finally taken them off. Everything is the same, but yet everything looks different. And I am still adjusting to the new view.

In the book "the science of getting rich" by powell/wattles it says that living the "certian way" is having a wealth consciousness in whatever place you are.
My plan for getting my fortune is simply, " I have and am developing my wealth mentality" see I am already rich, actually extremely rich :yippee: . I knew a man that made money no matter what he did. He was a person who dabbled in everything. Out of ignorance I would tell him how "lucky" he was but he would insist it was not luck. He denied the existence of GOD.One day he told me " I believe that everything I do will make me money, not a lot of money but money." I saw first hand how people seemingly fell into money but each one believed one thing, no matter what they did it would make them money.
So my fortune plan is simple " I have the midas touch" in other words it's not what I plan that brings(it's already prepared) my fortune to me but everything I believe. :yippee: :yippee:
I am already a multi-millionaire :D :yippee:
"All things whatsoever you pray believing" you will see it when you believe.
Truly the fortune plan of every one should be wealth consciousness.
