Does anybody here on the forum have any experience with offshore banking? It sounds like a great deal... but I would probably be too careful to do it.

They do have lots of information on the site so I'll take the time some night and educate myself on the subject matter. =)

Just be careful. From what I've read, it is not illegal to set-up offshore banking and related services. The problem comes in with taxes. The United States considers 100% of your income anywhere in the world as taxable, unless taxed by another government. If you use these services in order to avoid paying lawful taxes, you would get in serious trouble including fines and jailtime. From what I have read, the U.S Government has been cracking down lately.

There are legal ways to avoid taxes, but you have to be careful to structure them correctly.

Yep, that's a good point IAFPO. I think this stuff is fascinating to read about, but I would be careful and probably contact a very knowledgeable attorney before I actually did anything.

..... but I would be careful and probably contact a very knowledgeable attorney before I actually did anything. Ya mean .... kinda like Dick Nixon did with Robert Vesco in the 60s and 70s? :yikes:

Isn't this risky business?
