OKLAHOMA CITY The elections across Oklahoma produced a shake-up at courthouses statewide as judges and prosecutors were tossed out of office.
Among those losing are Associate District Judge Craig Key in Lincoln County. Key lost to Meeker attorney Sheila Kirk who criticized Key for returning 2-year-old Kelsey Smith-Briggs to her mother's custody despite a Department of Human Services warning to the contrary.
Kelsey died four months later and her stepfather is charged with murder and her mother with abuse.
Also turned out of office are Oklahoma County District Attorney Wes Lane who lost to former assistant prosecutor David Prater. Lane had fired Prater five years ago.
Among the others who'll be looking for jobs are Oklahoma County Judges Susan Caswell and Nan Patton who both lost re-election races.
