The title of the post may sound like a big ad for some web site. To be honest I have not had the chance to go to the companion website of the book I am currently reading. The book is StrikingItRich.com and it is written by Jaclyn Easton from Los Angeles Times. The book contains 23 in-depth success stories of people striking it rich on the web. We get to know how all these people started their businesses, where they advertise, how much money they made, and their philosophies on the web. The book is a little bit outdated since it was written in 1999, but most of it still holds true 5 years later. There's all these great examples of how people took loans and started a new business/website from their garage or bedroom.
One of my favorite success story from this book is of Art Munson who started tape.com. A company that sells blank media. He had his website up and running already in 1995, and he did business even before that via e-mail, etc mostly selling cassette to Deadhead tape traders.
This is a very entertaining and informative book that I highly recommend. :)
