Hi,

Just wondering if someone can clue me into how to use photobucket! At TR, Duckman re-sized my Tiger.gif for me that I use in my siggy here. He is hosting it at his own site for now, but I have to use photobucket to keep it now. So I joined up to photo bucket. Figured out how to actually get pics on there, and that is about it.

Now, I got a welcome from Photobucket, and the directions are as clear to mud to me! Can anyone help me decipher this??

using the Display URL. Ahh yeah great - but how?? I looked on the photobucket site and can't see any HOW TO's there!

Blog or embed the image on a LiveJournal, Piczo, eBay, MySpace,
Facebook, or other pages by using the Display Tag for to embed your
image. Would that also include here in the posts or in chat? I have seen some links in the chat room that others post, to share their pics.... but am not sure HOW to do that...

Some message boards and forums require [IMG] tags to be shared
and displayed. Photobucket automatically generates this for you when
you use the Display IMG option. Tom, what about this forum? Can you give me any guidance as to how it works here? Sorry to bug you, but I have been a regular poster of forums for years and never had to do this before! Before, it was you just hit some button in reply and could load the pic right from your hard drive... I never got into this photobucket thing before... Any help would be appreciated. I just want to keep my tiger gif in my siggy!! And maybe once in a while share pics with my friends in chat, so they can see what I look like too.

I got a blank page, so I exited out of my browser and came back in again, and everything was fine, but my Tiger was gone! Gee I am not too good at putting 2 + 2 together today, am I?? Duh.... Yes I did - but the first time I tried it, I think the pics were too big. After deleting them at photobucket, re-sizing them and then uploading them to photobucket again - it worked.

Also the 2nd time I tried it here, I noticed that the little icon of the mountain disappeared after I put the 1st one into my post. But I followed how it looked to post the 2nd one... and it magically worked! Woohooo...

Yeah Tom, that post... #55 was when I was trying to use the TAG thingy at photobucket.. the other two things worked though.... I was trying all 3 out to see what would happen. The TAG thing, didn't work. Also for that post, after I saw it didn't work, I left it there to show myself in case I forgot! LOL I just removed my identifying #'s from that post (#55) to photobucket... in case anyone tries it... :)

I was talking with RMG in chat, and he told me to add a link, just copy and paste it from the top of my browser. I didn't see any URL's at the top of my browser! So I had to go into VIEW, then click on the Status Bar and it showed up.. I think that was part of the problem. As to why I couldn't post links.. but I think I finally figured out how to post a JPEG into a post here.

Now this is going to sound silly... but I have a hard time making my fonts bigger or changing the color of them for posts. I thought you typed what you want, then highlight it - and then do the bold, color, etc..? But when ever I check it, it never shows up! I am not doing something right!

PicTub (http://www.pictub.com) is much better, for resizing etc.

Oh wow - yet another one I have never heard of ! I use Photoshop to work in my pics.... I just wasn't getting the hang of photobucket. Thanks though, I will keep that one in mind!! :thumb:
