Men are out of touch with their feellings. This is not because we are dead inside but actually because we are too sensitive. We have created a sort of tree bark around out emotinal nature.

What do men want? They want to be taken care of and they want to feel like they are taking care of things.

If you look at a boys relationship with his mother it becomes a little more clear. A boy worships his mother because she is the one that makes it all better. All the physical nuturing takes place so yound that it becomes a very unconscious feeling. But at the core of it all, a man wants to be able to find that total peace and trust of nuturing bliss. He wants a mother to take care of him.

Every boy grows up and must establish their independence from their mother. This is a pretty big crisis and it is pretty common to joke about how bachlors can't take care of themselves.

A young man them must combine his unconscious desire to motherly nurturing with his sexual desires. Often a male will focus on the sexual desires and pattern them selves after the other males who are now motherless and trying to figure out how to survive.

Depending on how much the male takes the socual imprint from his 'pack' will depend on his culture, upbringing and other social factors.

I know women who are interested in sexual relationships who always complain that men get all emotinally attached and start talking about falling in love after they have sex.

Transactional Analysis can work this into a healthy relationship once we recognize that we play these roles for each other. If we play them as consciously as possible we can experience deep levels of trust and nuturing.

Beer and poker are distactions once the basic survival needs are met.
