I think it sucks.

It does, but in the current political climate do you blame them?

Yep, unfortunately our country is not very popular these days.

in australia, in the context that we were shown, which i think would have somewhat differed from american footage, video of americans agressively espousing their domination as the worlds best i think is unproductive in this current political climate.

the olympics, like every other sport is just a competition.

where has all the respect gone in this world towards each other, respect for winners as well as the less successful entrants?

I think it sucks.So .... what exactly sucks about asking representatives to use common sense in a celebration, instead of a strutting, in-your-face-I'm-superior-to-you attitude that is sneaking it's way into the Olympics.

There was a time, a couple thousand years ago, that the World stopped it's wars and conflicts to celebrate the best of Human effort. THIS was supposed to be a theme of returning the Olympics to it's historic birthplace, but for some little reason, that will not be happening this year.

That's pretty sad. For those in the LA area that listen to KFI640 and Phil Henry, he joked about this last night in his show. You have to listen to show to understand all the injokes... it's pretty hilarious.
