There are no prizes or anything associated with it, at this time. In the beginning, I wanted to keep track of my own referrals, so I've just always had it turned on, because I never thought to turn it off.

There is a point system mod that I might install eventually, that would keep track of reputation, referrals, posts, etc. and we could have prizes, or contests. Looks a little daunting to me though, in that it seems to require quite a bit more hacking of the files than most of the other ones, like the chat for instance. This makes life much more complicated when you want to upgrade to a newer version of vbulletin. And sometimes you don't have a choice but to upgrade because of security reasons.
