I saw this article on MSN, I thought I would share it.

Looking for Love

Many baby boomers in their 40s, 50s and older are single. Some are divorced, others widowed, some never married. A generation ago, people would have dismissed single people in their 50s as aged out of the dating market. Not so today.

Beverly Mahone of Durham, N.C., is 49. A former TV journalist, she is now an author and public speaker. Her latest book, WHATEVER! A Baby Boomer's Journey Into Middle Age, is about the challenges she faced in her 40s—experiencing menopause, parenting her teenage daughter, and entering the dating scene again.

"There are specific online dating scenes for older people," Mahone says. "It's not over. We are not dead. … All of the mistakes that we have been through, now we can make the necessary changes to find what we are looking for." And boomers, unlike men and women in their 20s, are, as she puts it, "mature enough to intelligently discuss" their relationship issues.

Mahone recommends www.babyboomerpeoplemeet.com as a good site for the gray set. Mahone herself met—then married—a man she met online.

Recently I've seen a TV commercial advertsing a dating site specifically for over 50's. Well, as they have proven themselves an economic phenomenon, I think there are people who don't sleep trying to figure out what biz is NOW right for the boomers. No joke, I know someone who's getting ready to enter the funeral home biz cuz she expects it to explode in the next couple of decades. The thing though is that the boomers seem to have popularized the health and fitness craze and they might set records for living very long.

The new data is out: the average lifespan in America is now up to 78! That's even with the schlumps that kack early for every imaginable reason included in the data. Better call your broker. :thumb:
