A survey by the software group LogicaCMG canvassed more than 8,500 people around the world on "The Joys of Text."
Almost 40 percent of Malaysians surveyed guiltily admitted to flirting electronically by text to someone other than their beloved.
Germans won the award for the most "text-trustworthy" people with only seven percent checking their partner's mobile.
One in 10 Italian love affairs started with a text message while one in three Philippine women said they preferred a text to chocolates or a card, the survey showed.

wow, that's some pretty interesting statistics.

I use text-messaging alot myself, but about 95% of them are to my girlfriend, so no worried for her! :)

Text Messages are great for business when you don't want to get hooked talking for 20 minutes about useless babble. I love talking on the phone but its inefficient in many business situations. I use Text and IM a lot. I have yet to fall head over heels with my co-workers though, :D

Dunno how I ever survived without txt messaging......When I send an email that I need the person to read right away I send them a txt message with YGM or please check your email NOW, lol. Then if I want to call them I txt them to find out if they can talk NOW.....Or if I don't want to talk I txt them to let them know I am too tired to talk.....etc. I love txt messaging. Not to forget if you have family all over the world like I do, you pretty much have the best form of immediate affordable communication.

Yes you do have to pay so don't start!!!! It can be very addicting and costly!

A friend from America stayed with me recently. He said text messaging isn't that big in the States. Over here in the UK it's massive. I'd usually send around ten texts a day.. at least. People here text a lot more than call.

But I'm the only one in my office of 15 that text messages so maybe it's not so much a lie.

I have never text messaged anyone, and don't want anyone texting me. I wouldn't know how and have no interest in it. I have accidentally ended up texting in french but not sending it, when I go out shopping and my purse gets bumped. I think there should be phones and plans for those who have no desire to use all the gadgets and gizmo's. I find I don't have time to email or call somedays. Never mind getting into texting too! Yi,yi,yi... :hopeless:

It's a sickness I have...texting :hopeless:

Oh my gawd....I have that disorder too....its called thumbago......an inflammation of the thumb due to over texting......and the only known cure is to practise self control and not use the phone to text.........I'll just text everyone first to let them know I won't be texting them for a few days.....:biglaugh: :crosseye:
