View Full Version : Lets post our goals here!

Maybe if I get really brave :D I'll post my goals up here. I went through a huge setback not too long ago so unfortunately many of my short term goals involve getting back to where I was quite a long time ago. I'm mentioning this part because I want you all to know that you should NEVER give up going after what you want no matter what obstacles you face.

This was part of a post in another thread here. Anyway, I've decided - what the hell - but I'll give you a little of the back story first.

I started my own company a few years ago that went down really hard. I ended up running myself into debt pretty deep because of it and lost everything. I spent the next few years trying to get back on top and sort of bounced around quite a bit. I ended up coming on board with a friends company both to help him grow it and to get some steady income again recently. His company had went through a few problems with a lot of the staff and other issues that I won't really get into. Anyway, in the mean time I am also building my own (2nd) company. If everything goes according to plan everything will be stablized soon. That in mind, here are the current goals I have in the 3 month range.

Goals to be accomplished by 09/07/04

Personal relations
• Meet 5 new people
• Email 3 people that I have lost touch with
• Reconcile with 1 enemy

Business
• Sign 5 retailers to carry Jeremy Lang products
• Deploy fully functional website
• Develop 2 additional products for Jeremy Lang

Financial
• Develop steady income of $2,000/month
• Maintain $500 in savings
• Maintain $200 in checking

Physical
• Complete 3 mile run in less than 18 minutes
• 1000 M open water swim
• Gain 10 lbs to reach 163 lbs

Education
• Read 3 new books
• Learn 30 new English words
• Learn 25 new Spanish words

Keep in mind-when you know exactly what your goals are you will be amazed how many way you find to reach them. I suggest writing them out and reading them at least 3 times a day. Part of the reason that I posted them here is it helps to have other people know about them so that I am more accountable. It's too easy to ignore a goal if you are the only one who knows about it.

Regardless of what kind of setbacks or obstacles you run into, never give up going after your dreams. You haven't failed untill you quit trying. Almost every single truely successfull person has failed many times at something before they got where they wanted to be. Look at how many failed experiments Thomas Edison had before creating a light bulb that worked!

I hope more of you post some of yours and we can all help each other achive our goals. Good luck everyone :thumb:

Excellent idea J, and you're absolutely right. Seeing your goals written down makes such a difference - and having the accountability too - damn that's good. You'll be thinking of us all whilst doing every one of those tasks!!

Don't worry, I'll post mine soon...just gotta think about them. Some that I will do, that you missed, are personal things, like Speaking louder and clearer, and improving my "Presence".

Good luck on yours!

What are you going to change it to then MantaRayz?

It's good to have rankings. Are there special groups we can join as well?

It's good to have rankings. Are there special groups we can join as well?No special Groups as far as I know. as far as rankings ..... the running totals of posts is a ranking of sorts. are you saying ranking like the 100th post = this, and the 250th post = that?

What would I change it to?

Hello: I am new to the group and would appreciate your comments:

I've been exercising the skills of using the power of belief for the past 20 years, in regards to the concious. The principles of awareness involves believing and achieving by applying causes and effects.. "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react" Personally speaking, I've tapped into another level of mental clarity, such as the the sub-concious. Once the subconcious grid with the councious/awesome moments will occur in our lives. Please give feedback/or similar viewpoints

Peace & Abundance,
robachv

Robachv - have you read "Excuse Me... Your Life is Waiting", by Lynn Grabhorn?

I'm in the process of reading it - a bit at a time - and your post made me think of it...

It's been a powerful book for me so far, as I've always been considered the "Queen of Adversity" :p Very life-changing, eye opening, stuff.

I could always teach anyone afrikaans... haha

I would say that you have to set yourself goals, but make sure you achieve them... but don't first go for long term, just plainly short term first... then long term...

Short Term Goals (completed before the end of the year)

1) Totally finish that dam bathroom (and post the pics here)
2) Get that new maple syrup evaporator in the shack and fully assembled
3) Lay out the tubing for next spring's 1000 maple trees
4) Get Xena comfortable with me on her back so I can ride her on the trails all winter.

Medium Term Goals (to be completed before the end of winter)

1) Learn French to the point that I can follow a conversation and be understood.
2) Finish the Bed & Breakfast apartment including all the plumbing.
3) Install the propane hot water heater, propane fireplace and 2nd power inverter
4) Get back down to my target weight, aka lose 10 pounds.

Next Summer Goal

1) Race an Ironman personal best: this will be done by maintaining my past swim and bike performance, but cut my marathon time by an hour (aka NO walking!). Reasonable goal is a sub 11:30, shoot for the stars of sub 11 hour.

Long Term Goals (2 - 3 year range)

1) Become truly fluent in French
2) Get Xena to the point of performing tricks without a bridle
3) Train other horses for $$$$
4) Grow all of my business ventures by another 25% (maple syrup, team building events, motivational speaking, book sales, youth programs, weddings, and the B&B)
