I almost didn't do my morning posting to this and other forums ... crunch time hit at work and I was up 'till 2:30 in the morning testing the new version of our product.
I almost didn't post, because I almost gave in to a feeling of "I'm already too busy today."
Almost. I was just about to dive headfirst into the day's work when I reminded myself that the attitude of overwhelm is a sucker's game.
I may have what seems to be an infinite amount of work on my plate, but I have access to a finite amount of time in which I can focus, act proactively, and rally all my resources to do my best.
I won't be suckered by my emotions. I won't let myself be overwhelmed. I'll step back and take the time to prepare myself to function at my peak level today - and I'll push the envelope of what I think is possible.
Now it's time to do it.
Are you getting suckered by an emotion that is doing nothing more than holding you back?
If you are, what are you doing to counter it?
Post your response ... we can all help each other beat these things together.
