View Full Version : What I will have and what I will surrender
Laughdrjr 02-26-2005, 04:33 PM I will have, by age forty, three million dollars in income-producing assets.
In return, I will surrender high-quality, life-changing, beneficial, and sought-after information both on the Internet and off.
In return, I will surrender hard, smart, guided, and focused work and effort.
In return, I will surrender negativity and negative thinking.
In return, I will surrender self-defeating paradigms like scarcity, failure, being alone on this journey, needing to deserve blessings, and having to earn blessings.
In return, I will surrender money generously and lovingly to charities.
In return, I will surrender being a fan of sports teams.
In return, I will surrender watching television.
In return, I will surrender spending money on non-necessities (and, yes, sometimes a vacation is a necessity).
I am 37 years old.
Thanks for reading this; you're helping the process of solidifying this reality. Can I help you?
sarah 02-27-2005, 09:25 AM I enjoyed reading what you had to say. But my question to you is is this going to be realistic for you to surrender all this stuff? Personally, I would try for 2-3 things your willing to surrender, and accomplish those first, then make your list bigger.
Have you tried this before on surrending stuff? If you did, how did it help you being the man you are today? Do you think everyone should have a surrender list? I plan on making one but not as long as yours til I get the hang of surrending stuff. What are the benifits/positives and negatives of surrending stuff your used to having?
Hope this helps, just wanted to throw some helpful questions your way. Good luck to you and tell us how surrending is working for you. Take care.

Laughdrjr 02-27-2005, 10:20 PM This post is a public declaration ala Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich.
Hill instructs me to set a grand goal, to not shortchange myself.
Hill also instructs me to clearly articulate what I will give up in return for that goal.
In my initial post the first two "surrenders" refer to my production. As in, I will do this.
The last few "surrenders" refer to things I will give up because they stand in the way of my goal. As in, I will not do this.
My "surrenders" were mostly bad habits, I didn't stated many concrete, measurable things - like spending less, moving to a cheaper residence, or paying off bills, etc.
What I didn't write is that I have many seeds planted for the fruition of my goal. The surrenders I have listed are designed to allow me to "get myself out of the way" (to help keep me from digging up those seeds every month, out of impatience, to "see how much they've grown").
For example, I didn't write:
I will surrender continued maximization and optimization of my real estate and real estate investments.
I will surrender continued maximization and optimization of my stock and stock option ownership and trading.
I will surrender continued maximization and optimization of my business and partnerships.
I will surrender continued maximization and optimization of the salary and benefits from the job I currently have.
Perhaps I should've written those into my initial post...and perhaps they should also be a part of my daily affirmation. Thanks for challenging me on this, Sarah; your post is helping me clarify.
Stay tuned...and keep smiling!
