Does it really work? I read that book years ago and I'm not rich.

I never read it, but I would say the concept seems far-fetched.

Welcome danielx and Willdraw! :)

While I doubt that one would get rich just by reading the book one time and forgetting about it, I would say that the principles laid out in Think and Grow Rich do work. Lot's of people have said it worked for them. But I think that it takes persistent effort. I think that one has to consistently do some of the exercises in the book and read certain parts over and over in order for it to really work.

I think I will get another copy and try to study and apply it.

Yeah, I think it will really help you get a feel for what it takes to achieve success from the inside out.

Not that long ago, I started reading it and happened to have two copies, one of which I gave to a friend of mine to read. We were reading it at the same time and discussing it when we got together. Both of us really made some breakthroughs.

One of the concepts that Napoleon Hill talks about is the "mastermind group." A mastermind group is where you and other people with aspirations of achieving success or wealth get together and discuss your ideas and goals. The purpose is to increase the positive energy of the individual members enabling them to better achieve their own goals. My friend and I discussing that book acted as a small mastermind group. One of the reasons I am starting this site is to create a large online mastermind group.

Simple. Measurable. Achievable. Realistic. Timely.

The secret to getting rich? Be SMART. I've read the above book and while it was good, I didn't find many of the suggestions very practical. But, then, I'm more of a "The Wealthy Barber" kind of guy myself.

I've probably bought over 20 copies of that book to give away, and it's dramatically changed the way my circle of friends conducts our life. We have almost no debt, for instance, we all have wills, life insurance (as appropriate) and are all saving for our retirement. Some of my friends have even gone into real estate.

I doubt if one single book, no matter who writes it, will make you rich. Usually there is something that is stopping you from being wealthy, and usually its your own belief system and your habits. I would recommend reading a variety of books and attending a variety of courses, and perhaps getting a success coach to help you get past what is stopping you from being successful.

I know that I can't point to any one thing that has vaulted me over the top, but I can say that every book I read, every course I take, and every coaching conversation I have gets me closer to my goal.

Each book or course or conversation provided a piece of the puzzle that will ultimately allow me to live my dreams.
