I'm positive. It was similar, though more condensed than the TR forums.

There have been other changes here as well in the past few days. This website is completely reconfigured on my Blackberry. totally different layout.

She's right. It had a place for you birth date if you wanted, what line of work you're in, what your interests are, and a few other things. All of my info is gone, too. What's going on here? I think it's interesting to learn a little bit more about some people.

Hey! That's bad! If we are going to be a community, we need to know about each other. It's bad enough as it is when people join in a conversation totally anonymous and expect to be treated as equals. I'm totally against pseudonyms but I have come to live with them. Still, we must have knowledge of each other otherwise this forum is dead as far as I am concerned.

Funnily enough, the information is still in our Control Panel (at least, mine is) - it's just not showing publicly.

ADDED - we must have a technical hitch - the number of posts is still showing but the posts per day isn't - and that is because the join date has disappeared, too.

Even more recently, Small-Business-forum seems to have died due to a change in software, and that was a great business discussion forum. And not so long ago, Total Life Success went completely off the air, and before that there was another success/small business discussion group that closed to install new software and never reappeared.

I'm afraid experience tells me that an online discussion group is a very precarious thing, and if you have a successful one, best to leave it alone until the MEMBERS demand some new technology. Anthony Blake hung with his old format bulletin board for ages while the whole world was switching to vBulletin. Finally he swtiched to something similar (not vBulletin, though) and managed to keep the group together.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

With so many here hiding behind pseudonyms, it's sometimes difficult to remember who is Gr8FL and who is KPDXYZ and who is Familyman, there being so many family men at the Vibe. Etcetera.

Plus which, when a new person arrives, they want to join in the conversation as if they are an established member of the group. Which is fine by me, if they provide some background in order to BE an established member of the group. But you wouldn't expect to be accepted into a new group of people at your local gathering spot as a founder member, so why here?

You will be able to do a lot more with the bio's now. Defend.net switched over (a much larger forum that this one) and everyone appears to have liked the changes.
I am surprised by the negativity about this, especially coming from you spider.I think that because, as one can see from the 'Edit profile' page, there is no change to the content of the profile. But the content is now spread over 5 separate pages instead of being displayed on one page as before. That is not progress, in my book.

But it is a minor matter. Better to have this than nothing.

Okay I think this is cool and a good upgrade! I got a bunch of notifications in my inbox at my home email addy. I thought, "What is this?" I saw it was from successvibe and went "Okay, I'll open this then." I came in and saw no less than 37 people on my friends list or something. Must be because I have PM'd with these people perhaps? How else would the system know? I don't think we had a buddy list thing before this, did we? I know there was one at TRville.

I saw I had about 8 friends requests, so I said yes to them all. I think I also sent out 37 friend requests too! :eek::D I'm not sure.... so if anyone gets one from me, just say yes already!!! :lildevil:
