So what do you guys and gals think of Alvin Hall?
He does a couple of series here in the UK, about how to manage your personal debt.
His advice is very good, I think I should follow some of his tips, as I'm hopeless with money.
I've never heard of him. I don't think we get him over here. There's a lot of info on Google about him though. Looks like he teaches about investing in the stock market too.

The strange thing is Alvin Hall is American, so I would have thought he might have been well known over there.
Unless he's devoted himself to working in the UK.

never heard of him in australia.
what sort of advice does he offer?
in my experience, most people offer the same info in different packages. funny how a lot of it becomes obvious after you hear it!

Never heard of him here in the US or Europe... but I'm not always as knowledgeable as I should be. :)

Unless he's devoted himself to working in the UK.Several years ago, a friend had the top selling seminar in the UK ..... he taught trading too. I was surprised (OK ..... the real reaction - "Sure Golden Boy! If you say so! :hopeless: ) But it was true!
I guess thats kinda true of many things ..... we tend to trust those outside our normal Sphere of Influence more than those we know or are accustomed to.
Who do YOU know that is a Master at what they do? And yet we never acknowledge that.

Never heard of him and I live in the UK.
My advice for managing debt (apart from "Don't get in it") would be: Get it all on 0% credit cards if possible and just keep moving it around.

:yippee: I would love to thank the guy in person just so he could see the relief and smile on my face. I have worked my way out of debt and away fast from debt management and am so clued up now on interest apr and all things money related - I'm giving copies of his book to my niece and nephews for their 18th birthday presents! Wish someone had given me one on mine. It all works scarily well... Caz

What is the gist of his advice? Can you share a couple of his tips? I have looked into Dave Ramsay's Total Money Makeover program on debt. I don't agree 100% on all his teachings, but his plan does work if you follow it.

I was in severe financial difficulties with no prospects of a in the black bank account at the very least. I was using a debt management company as it helped me at that time - but after reading "Your money or your life" I started a new year new me attitude resoution. Got in touch with all creditors as Alvin suggested and using him as a cookbook for dealing with legal and mediation stuff got everything rolling with me being the one dealing the cards for a change. Have repaired my credit worthiness and am going to be debt free in less than five years and wrote off a quarter of my money legally. All it cost me was a few stamps and phone calls.. Cannot recommend Mr Hall highly enough!! Happy reading and good luck :tiphat:
