View Full Version : Anyone know much about pre-paid legal Spiderman 10-31-2005, 12:32 AM Anyone use it or sell it? :) Is it worth building a business on? alburgea 11-26-2005, 10:57 PM I enrolled in Pre-Paid Legal and it has been a life saver for me. Unfortunatey, I have been a victim of a few internet scams which would have cost me $1000s of dollars if not for Pre-paid legal. For a small fee of $20/month (purchased through my company) I was able to have a laywer from one the biggest law firms in Michigan, write on my behalf, letters to the "companies" that failed to supply products or refund my money. I have thus far gotten 100% of my money back. So my subscription has paid for itself 1000 times over again. I also have plans to get my will and living will done in the next few months. From my experience, I think it is a great program, but what really counts is what you think. If you are looking to get into network marketing, then you really need to find a program that you believe in and want to promote. If you believe in your product then it will make it sooo much easier to sell that product to other people. If you don't really care, then it will really show in your sales. For what it's worth, Lee ___ Gregfolio 12-08-2005, 02:51 PM My older brother was an affiliate of a pre-paid legal company. He says it is great for basic legal stuff, but it usually does not cover major issues, such as handling certain cases or lawsuits. They'll write letters, prepare basic paperwork, and even consult with you, but they typically won't represent you in court or handle things like divorces - but maybe some do now for a higher fee. When dishonest businesses get letters from attorneys, they usually comply with the requests. There's something about a professional letterhead and legal sounding wording that scares them straight. It is a good idea to set up your property and belongings under a Trust/Estate. Also, if you are conducting any type of business, it's a good idea to get a blanket-type policy of Personal Liability insurance. There are too many lawsuit-happy people out there that will sue for the smallest or trivial reasons. Cameo 01-07-2006, 09:27 PM Actually they do go to court and defend/represent you - and I say this from first hand experience :) In fact nearly all my family members have a PPL plan (much like an insurance policy) and not because we're a bunch of criminals..lol - but because the simple fact is that we live in a latigious society... Example: my mother got a speeding ticket when driving through some other state... there was no way she would be able to go back to that state and try to fight the ticket, so she called her attorneys and one who was in that state went and represented her and saved her from losing points and paying a huge fine. They'll also take on the big court cases..even divorce. However, I think because of the scope of these types of cases, they do ask for a retainer fee but as a member you receive a really great discount. My aunt actually sells plans to those who are interested. And as an associate, she'd be very qualified to answer any questions you have. So, just let me know if you'd like to get in touch with her. synchronicityexpert 05-14-2006, 06:14 PM I found it to be a great resources as well. It really comes in handy when you have those nagging little legal questions you need answered..in my case I have them enough (particularly in the intellectual property areas) that I could spend $1000s if I used a regular lawyer from personal referral or out of the phone book. It's set up to really be easy to use and the cost is definite a value. Go for it! airpaden 05-26-2006, 11:15 PM Anyone use it or sell it? :) Is it worth building a business on? It is a solid company. Fortunately for me I am never in any legal trouble. I was in Pre-Paid Legal a couple of years ago. I can't recall the last time I used an attorney. Peace, CP |
