Actually she was hottest in the Gia days. What you see here is enhancements by lighting and filters and pretty heavy post production. She's not looking great these days IMO. She did something to her face and looks totally different now.

Ahhhh yes, the Gia days. She really was smoking hot in that movie, even with the short hair.

She has gotten too skinny, that's what she has done to her face. Her cheeks are sunken in, she has tiny little spindles for arms and legs, and her forehead looks too big because she's so tiny.

Don't get me wrong, I still think the woman is drop-dead gorgeous and as celebrities go seems like she would be one cool chick to hang out with, but she really needs to put some muscle back on that tiny frame.

He he he, it took a lot of work to get there, about 18 months - when DaughterGrande was born I weighed about 200 lbs which is heavy for me even though I am 6' 2" - I got down to 170, 32" waist when that pic was taken. Was very careful about what I ate and drank, was supplementing moderately, and working out 6 days a week (3 weights, 3 cardio).

I give up about 15 lbs with the artifical leg and atrophy of my right leg, so when I weigh in at 200 I look more like 220 - current goal is to drop 25 lbs of fat and replace it with 15 lbs of muscle, to get to a weight of 185. I may have to join a gym and get a trainer to jump start my results - I have started and stopped using the limited equipment I keep in the RV three times in the last 18 months.

Meri and NGU have inspired me.

I know this because my mom put me in a height chair in front of the TV to watch his funeral because she wanted me to remember the history. I just got a flashback to the movie "Footloose" where the parents didn't want the kids to have a school dance because they didn't think it was purposeful.

I cannot say for sure what the purpose was because I didn't create it, but I was certainly a participant. For me it was fun and a much needed break on Friday to shift from work mode to play mode. I liked it!!

It certainly got a lot of participation and brought the crowd together!

If you don't want to look at, or participate in the thread, then don't.

I'm not sure if you noticed, but women were posted in this thread as well, BY a woman.

It has nothing to do with looking at scantily clad people, it's about appreciating someone who works hard at looking good. That, in itself, is success.

Being negative and judgemental is not going to make anyone a success. Having some fun now and then is a good release and creates a positive energy.

To be fair, this is Dan's site though and if he would prefer not to see certain threads then that is his choice. That said, if this is about the thread not being success oriented then there are loads of threads which probably should be questioned - the whole politics area more or less for one.

I think we have to be respectful of the voice of the people owning the site... we are after all their guests... at the same time, the community isn't much without the people who post here... I don't believe there was anything offensive in the thread which is something the site owners would want to be particularly careful about. Blowing off steam doesn't seem that harmful.

It seems that SV is moving along nicely at the moment, few arguments (if any) and a lot of positive posts and goals being achieved. There is a good feeling about the place right now. It would be a shame to kill that feeling in my opinion.

If the site owners believe certain types of threads are not appropriate then we need some clearer guidelines I imagine. Perhaps a PM would serve just as well.

Is the inability to choose battles wisely not also a societal problem? Instead of trying to redefine what you think this forum is supposed to be about in your own terms, why not be the change you want to see?

You have 28 posts here by my last count, at least four of which were spent here debating the validity of this thread. That feels like an energy suck to me, especially if every little bit counts.

I like participating in all sorts of threads. I'd be delighted to contribute to some of yours as well and I'm sure others would too. There is much we can all learn from each other. You can choose to ignore these types of threads and create your own on things you feel are more important.

Well I do respect the fact that this is his site, if in fact that is the case.

My point is this thread was meant as a "success and motivation" type thread, and I made sure to read the category I put it in to make sure I was doing right:

"Picture Gallery
If you have any success pictures like you achieving something or just pictures that would motivate, inspire or soothe put them here."

Had the women (and men for that matter) not agreed this was a great thread and participated so fully, I would have thought maybe I did do something wrong. However, it was one of the busiest and fastest growing threads for days.

And I truly believe that the photos that have been posted have all been in good taste, and most definitely motivate, inspire and soothe.

This thread made me laugh and cheered me up on a Sunday evening - thanks NGU!! Happiness is the key to success in all areas of life!

As far as this being a Success and Motivation thread, I would have to legitimately question success to what and motivation of what but I must also say that in any community there needs to be treads that allow members to blow off steam, have fun, tease laugh and lighten up. This happens in the real world and is needed in the online communities as well.

The key is making sure that there is an appropriate balance that leans towards the owners and sites direction and intent. I think it is important for all of us to constantly keep in mind that we are here because we want success and contribute t those areas as well as the "fun" threads.

Having said all that, I think that this thread has been rather fun and probably a nice stress relief for many.
