I have been extremely stressed out about my teenage daughter. There are a lot of things going on; too many to discuss. I can really feel how the stress has effected my health. To make a long story short, I found a site that helped me and helped my daughter:

Stress is my body's reaction to a lie my brain tells it.
The lie my brain tells my body is, "Something is wrong!"
My body, like a great pet dog, responds as the brain orders it. It reacts with my age-old "fight or flight" response (which served my relatives so well when they were facing down polar bears for room in "cave condos").
The tricky part about doing away with stress has to do with my brain. You see, my brain is not being malicious; it believes the lie it is telling my body.
The "trick" then is to retrain my brain, which is an ongoing process. I have found (what a shocker...looking at my sig line) that humor is the best natural medicine to retrain my brain! Among other things, I have learned to motivate myself with fun rather than fear.
But the more I learn about relieving stress the better. So thanks for sharing these two websites!

Of course, sometimes, your brain is right and there *is* something wrong - you just didn't realise it until your brain brought it to your body's attention (or perhaps you'd been deliberately trying as hard as you could to ignore it for some time before your body demanded you listen). At least that's the way it's worked in the past for me!
The trick for me is always knowing when there's something genuinely wrong, and when there isn't.
Your mileage might vary, of course :-)
Best wishes, and may every day bring you closer to your optimum life.
