Hey, Folks.

I've been locked in a tower for two or three months now, retraining to get back into the real world and get a 'real' job.

I started out looking at lifeguard training, but the courses kept getting canceled. In the meantime, heck, I love working with movies and stories, and I used to be a video editor with CBC, and that can all be done now on your home computer, if you have the right software and if you know what you're doing...

So, I spent the last 10 weeks learning the industry standard software for editing - Premiere Pro and After Effects, (or beginning the never ending journey of learning them).

Here's the first item for my demo reel, a movie trailer for Gladiator - A Love Story. (After all, how could anyone resist the compelling attraction between the two leads - Maximus and Commodus!)

I see the links feature isn't working, so just cut and paste this into your browser:

Pass it on. I need the work!

Flawless! Beautiful! Stunning! Your a very talented lady, Corinne.

P.S. I have some relatives I'd like edited out of my life, how much do you charge for that? :D

ROFLMAO! Well, there's not much editing work you need that a good time line won't fix... and the ability to wait for the final export to be finished! LOL

Thanks for the feedback, David.

I love the idea of doing movie trailers (real ones! LOL) and music videos. But video work in any form is great and it pays well once you get started.

Might just start with wedding videos. There are some ads out for that right now as wedding season approaches.

This could fund my yoga habit on the side. hehehe....

Oh - and I think this might answer your mother's day question from earlier. I was busy getting this to work! But my two "little guys" treated me to some great moments, too. It was a nice day. :)

I've been an editor myself for the past several 5 years, and the only message i can give you is:

Always ask yourself, after and during editing: Will I come back to the cinema to buy myself a movie ticket after seeing this trailer like 4/5 times?

Also, study trailers that are released nowadays, try to find some sort of algorithm they use or whatever.

You should also have a look at the works of Genrocks, Keesvdijkhuizen and Daneimp.

Pretty good trailer you made nonetheless!
