Hmm not much network marketing talk in this forum and from the ones I did see wernt very in dept about it. Network marketing was the original name for multi level marketing (MLM). A little history... network marketing has been around for like 50 years... then the internet grew then it became popular and then became known as MLM's... which turned out to be alot of freken scams. Its true 95% of em are scams but there is a 5% haha and im not here to promote any part of that 5%.... what im giving you here is more important >=)

------------The #1 reason MLM's fail (even if they are legit)-------------

- Relationship Building/Helping VS Mass Recruiting/Selling -

Why does 95% of the MLM's fail?? cuz its centered on recruiting and selling or better known as GREED and EGO...... they basically recruit 543289058239582390 ppl hoping that 1000 of those ppl will actually do good.... and 100 actually does... and by the end of the year 2 or 3 of those will still be there.... its like leaving a baby in the middle of a forest and hoping it comes out of it alive.

problem #1 - those type of ppl are f*cking with other peoples lives.... promising money and dreams to come true.... the ppl who get scrwed are ppl just like you and me.... mom's, dad's, brothers, sisters, grandpa's, grandma's, ppl in debt, ppl looking for a better life or income, ppl just trying to pay the bills........ and they get scrweddddddddd they get so scrwed that they start getting desperate and they start doing what everyone else is doing in the MLM's ..... recruit frantically and screwing others to save themselves.

problem #2 - no relationship... all business, all mr nice guy/gal then leave em in the dust after and never talk again......... not everyone is a marketing or internet genius... ppl need help and guidance

Now if these certain MLM's did it the other way... thru relationship building thennnnn.......... its synergy... everyone helping everyone..... if you think u know everything, u dont.. u can always learn from somebody... if someone doesent know much on a field... teach em..... coaching and mentoring is essential for these things to work... you not only get a very effective team... but you get friends for life since your helping others with their dreams. You help others realize their dreams... and theyll help realize yours. You hafto want the same level of success as for yourself with others or maybe even more to generate that kind of good relationship.

Think of it like this.... if you taught someone everything they need to know that u have knowledge of.... its like cloning yourself haha so then theres 2 of you doing work at your level of abilities or even more and then 3 then 4 and so on.... that few numbers will work way better than a 100 mindless recruits that u leave in the dust to fend for themselves....

A book i greatly recomend is called "the greatest networker in the world" you can also listen to it on audio if u dont wanna read... its a great true story and its FREE haha just look it up on google I dont wanna break any advertising forum rules haha.

Relationship building = no matter what MLM your in... the relationship with people and their dreams are the product... nothing else. This is what the original network marketing is all about before all the scams... this is the secret to the 5% network marketing programs that work and are legit.

Alrite thats my big rant about network marketing and relationship building thx for taking the time to read all. >=)

that's a nice narrow-minded approach to a succesful industry. what you say is certainly true with a number of people. But, it is not representative of the whole.

My intention in network marketing is to improve other people's lives. I focus on relationship-building before I do business with anyone. If it isn't a fit, I don't pursue it any further. It is a shame you have let a few bad experiences get to you. Perhaps you never had anyone reputable to work with that would willingly give their time to help make you successful.

Yes, some people do. But most who get involved don't.

MLM / NM is fantastic for company. Not good for the distributor.
Think about it:
I manufacture a product, none of my sales force are employees so I save a ton of money on wages and taxes, and not only am I not paying wages, but the majority of company sales comes from selling product to the very people who have agreed to sell it (and everyone in their family). Brilliant!
True, most of the people who become distributors will fail, but in the meantime, I get to cash in on all their free hard work, and to keep it all going I just need to convince enough people (and have them believe for 3 to 6 months) that they actually have a chance at getting rich (and that they are helping others achieve their dreams). The few distributors who do make it big will help keep the dream alive and I will use them as proof that becoming rich is "technically" possible. In fact I will make even more money by recording these few success stories on tape and then selling those tapes to all my distributors.

Why does my scheme work so well? Because people who are desperate will try just about anything, even if their chances are slim to none.

Here's the truth:
People have a better chance of succeeding if they go back to shcool or get some training in a field where they can find a decent job. Or, by opening a real business.

Some people do succeed in network mrking, but most don't. Just like some people do v well in internet biz, but most don't. It depends on the individual and the value system.

Personally, I think the only thing more important than the person themselves in NWM is the team they become involved in.

I had a pretty lousy experience with NWM in my early 20s that put me *right* off the industry (or should I say, the company structure, since it's a business structure that operates in all kinds of industries).

The only reason I got involved again was because my company offers online personal development education, and I have a passion for personal development. When I got involved, it was to try out their courses, to see if I thought any of them were good enough to recommend to my stress management clients.

As it happened, there weren't any stress related ones, but there were a lot on other topics I was interested in - leadership, communication skills, relationship building skills - all things I was fascinated with.

After a few months of studying the courses, I started realising I wanted to recommend the courses to people I knew, and if I was going to do that anyway, why *not* get paid for it? Yeah, I could do it for free, but why deliberately cut myself out of the loop if I didn't have to?

So yeah - I started working my business with them late last October/November. I'm not in it to get rich quick - I expect that, like any business, it will take me time and effort to get to the point where I can do it full time. The government in NZ gives businesses 3 years before it expects them to show a profit. I believe, in the US, that figure is 5 years. So if I can start generating a reasonable part-time income (which requires me being in profit) in 1 year, and a full-time income in 2, I'll consider myself successful.

I'm at the point where I'm almost breaking even including all the running, marketing and advertising costs each month now - so I feel as though I'm well on track. And most of that is because of the *awesome* support I've had from my upline mentor - which I"m trying to pass on, down the line, to my own team. There's no way I would have got this far without the help I've had from the team I joined, and I want to make sure the people under me don't fail for lack of the same support.

Is it an easy way to make money? No, but I don't believe there are a lot of easy ways to make money with integrity. Does it make me feel as though I'm adding value to people's lives with what I'm doing? Absolutely! And that, when it comes down to it, is why I'm still involved :bouncy:

Best wishes and may every day bring you closer to your optimum life
